Self-Portrait V.2 by Idellechi Self-Portrait V.2 by Idellechi
After lots of work here it is! I feel I really improved on observational fabric folds (Although it was hard as I was looking at my own clothes that I was wearing) and shading ^.^

I liked how I made the lines smoother, does it look better that way at the intersections?

The hardest part of this was the lips and nose. Took me hours xD Hands and feet are purposely not drawn realistically, just to give it a different look. I liked how it came out too. May try more in that style.

Done in MS Paint, Transparency done in GIMP.

This is very well done! I really enjoy the style of the character, and how absolutely cute they look! I really enjoy the simplistic look and I think it works really well for the piece. I also really love the folds on the pants. While they aren't 100% realistic, I think they really work for the toony appearance. I actual love looking at them and how nicely they've been shaded! However, one thing that does seem a little off is the face. While I like the eyes and facial shape, the nose and mouth seem a little off. I think it's because everything else has distinct line around it, while the nose and mouth don't, leaving them a lot less visible than everything else and throwing off the appearance a little. Try outlining the facial features in the same way you have everything else and I think they'll look a lot more natural. Other than that, this a really unique and adorable piece and it really shows a lot of style and personality. I love how you approached this! Keep up the fantastic work :)

This is pretty good. I like the hair and the eyes. The lines look very good, nice and smooth and I like the tapering. I think what may help you is to look at some references for folding in clothes. I know they're really hard, I struggle with it too. Here are some tutorials that may help you out: kitten-chan.deviantart.com/art... crysa.deviantart.com/art/Drawi... and darlingmionette.deviantart.com... c: Doing some studies of real life clothing could help as well. (Just sketch with a pencil on paper.) Keep practicing though! You're doing well so far :)

Thanks so much! I based it off of an outfit I had and so I drew it by looking in a mirror XD
